Midhurst is found in West Sussex, England.
It is located on the Rother River and has been ranked the second best town in England by Country Life magazine.
It is known for being the home of the Tudor Cowdray House and Park.
Each year is the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup polo competition that is held at the Lord Cowdray estate next to the ruins of the mansion.
Many members of the royal family have played here and it is also a venue for concerts.
Many of the town's main attractions are found at the Cowdray Estate.
You can still visit the ruins of the Cowdray Tudor house and these are actually described as restored ruins.
The gardens are around the house are quite stunning as they were landscaped by Capability Brown.
There is a beautiful walled garden and plenty to explore besides the sporting events on the estate.
If you like racing then the Goodwood racing course is just outside of the town.
Each July is the Glorious Goodwood horse race.
There is also the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival Meeting.
During the summer months you can get up early to joining the Goodwood Breakfast club where those with old cars meet once a month.
The countryside is an attraction unto itself as you are right near the South Downs.
The South Downs Walkway stretches for 100 miles and lets you explore many of the chalk hills in and around Midhurst.
Some of the most beautiful vies can be seen of the river valley just north of Midhurst.
This is an ancient track and besides enjoying the view you can also learn a lot about the history of the area.
