- 1). Turn the camera on by pressing the on/off button located on the left side of the camera. The camera display screen will turn on to show the current settings of the camera.
- 2). Set the control switch on the right side of the camera to the running man symbol. The display will change to show that the camera is now in action shot mode.
- 3). Look at the camera display and locate where the shutter mode is displayed. The shutter mode should show as an “S” in the upper center portion of the camera display.
- 4). Hold down the rectangle button on the top right side of the camera and turn the dial on the back of the camera to set the shutter to continuous shots. When the shutter is in the continuous shot mode, a picture of the rectangle will show on the camera display in place of the “S” that appears when the camera is first turned on.
- 5). Point the camera at the sports action and hold the down the shutter button (this is the button that is pressed to take the picture). Holding the button will cause the Nikon D80 to take continual pictures until the shutter button is released.
