Garage Door Maintenance - Dealing With Noises

After a couple of years, you may start to hear noises from your garage door hardware.
It can come from the mechanism or the door material itself, especially if you don't pay attention to regular maintenance and details that need attention.
If you are annoyed with noises coming from opening and closing your door, you can use these simple tips to deal with the noises and improve the condition of your door instantly.
First of all, with the door closed, look for possible noise sources.
Check the track and the door itself for dirt or other things -- check for leaf and other possible jamming materials, especially on your garage door's track -- and clean them all.
After you thoroughly clean the door, add some penetrating solvent such as the WD-40 to the rollers, roller tracks, hinges, and latches.
Continue with wiping the solvent clean before adding lubricants to the mechanism.
It would be best to use specialized lubricants and lubricate the bearings as well.
Once you completed the first step, test the door mechanism to see if the noise is still present.
If you still hear unwanted noises, try to follow them and find the source.
Deal with the issue properly -- add lubricants if necessary, remove rust from components using kerosene or penetrating solvent, etc.
-- and retry the door to see if you still find any noise.
You can also get a socket wrench or adjustable wrench and tighten all nuts on the door and track.
Don't over tighten the nuts though; it will make your door opener work harder that it should, causing more damages to the mechanism.
If the noise still persists, you need to replace rollers and bearings to solve the problem.
Most of the time these parts are made from iron; they can get scraped against each other, causing the noises to arise.
If you still think these steps are too complicated, simply get assistance from professional garage door experts.
They will help you maintain the condition of your door and keep it in good shape.
