- 1). Clean the scuffed area thoroughly using a quality leather cleaner. Ask the manufacturer of the leather furniture for recommendations. Apply the leather cleaner with a soft dry cloth. Leave the cleaner on the leather for the time specified on the bottle, then wipe away any excess with a soft cloth or rag.
- 2). Apply a quality leather reconditioning balm to a soft cloth and work it into the scuffed area. Choose a balm that matches the original color of the leather furniture. Rub the balm into the leather in a circular motion to make sure it penetrates the hide as deeply as possible.
- 3). Wipe away the excess leather balm after it has dried. Allow the conditioner to dry for the period of time recommended on the package. Use a soft cloth to wipe away the excess, then apply the conditioner again if any traces of the scuff mark remain.
- 4). Use a chamois to buff the area you just repaired. The chamois will restore the shine to the formerly scuffed area and help it look its best.
