Motorcycle training courses improve your skills, both in riding and in coping with dangers on the road. The state of Missouri has developed a Motorcycle Safety Program that lists courses approved by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and the state. Basic rider training will help you obtain your license, but you can also get additional training to boost your skills. - The city of St. Charles, Missouri, offers the Beginning Rider Course (BRC) and the Experienced Rider Course (ERC) through its parks department. The motorcycles are provided by Central Missouri State University and a local business. At the end of the course, you receive a card that waives the driving portion of your motorcycle license test and also may give you a discount on your insurance. Classes are no larger than 12 riders. As of 2010, St. Charles had begun construction of a custom off-highway motorcycle training range and classroom in DuSable Park.
