Personally I find there is nothing more enjoyable than finding a nice restaurant for an evening meal and then enjoying a gentle evening stroll back to a warm and welcoming villa.
One big bonus is that the money you will probably save on accommodation will go a fair way to paying for a hire car during your stay.
Lanzarote car hire is incredibly cheap (and long may it stay that way), which means that you could even go further afield and rent a very reasonable rural villa in the heart of the Lanzarotean country side, where you could enjoy total privacy and seclusion if you really want to unwind and relax.
There is another added bonus to having access to your own transport too.
Lanzarote has a plethora of outstanding beaches to enjoy which are well of the beaten track, such as Papagayo and Famara.
And you'll also be able to scoot round the island and visit the many museums and amazing creations of Cesar Manrique.
