A nutritionist is a health professional who typically has a bachelor's degree in dietetics or related field. A nutritionist, also known as a dietitian, plans meal programs for a health facility (hospital, nursing home, for example) or other institution or organization. A nutritionist may also be on staff at a school or in a doctor's office to assist students and patients with nutritional guidance and meal planning.
