- 1). Plug your JUNO-D into your audio interface. The interface allows you to connect all your peripherals to your computer simultaneously through one hardware device. Insert your MIDI cable into the "MIDI-Out" port on your JUNO-D, and into the "MIDI In" port on your interface.
- 2). Plug your audio cables into the "L" and "R" ports on the back your JUNO-D, beneath the word "Output." Plug the opposite end of each cable into an available "Line-In" port on the front of your interface.
- 3). Install your audio interface driver. In order for your computer to communicate with your interface, you will need to install the appropriate driver. Locate the CD-ROM included with your audio interface, insert it into your CD/DVD-ROM drive and double-click the installer icon. When installation completes, you can eject the CD.
- 4). Plug your audio interface into your computer. If using a FireWire interface, plug the attached FireWire cable into a corresponding port on your PC. If using a USB interface, plug the attached USB cable into a corresponding port on your PC.
- 5). Open Sonar Home Studio on your computer. If you have not yet installed the software, insert the installer disc into your CD/DVD-ROM drive and double-click the installer icon. If you already have the software installed, double-click the icon to open it.
- 6). Create a new audio track. Right-click your mouse anywhere on the main browser and select the "Insert Audio Track" option from the pop-up menu. Click the "Input" menu beneath the track heading on the left side of your screen and select your audio interface as your input device. Begin playing notes on your JUNO-D and they will transmit to your computer.
- 7). Create a new MIDI track. While audio tracks let you record directly from your JUNO-D, MIDI tracks let you record using Sonar's built-in virtual instruments. Right-click your mouse anywhere on the main browser and select the "Insert MIDI Track" option from the pop-up menu. Click the "Input" menu beneath the track heading on the left side of your screen and select your audio interface as your input device. Double-click the track heading and select a virtual instrument from Sonar's music library.
- 8). Press the red "Record" button at the top of your screen to begin recording. Press the black "Stop" button when you finish.
