The Freedom Trail is a two-and-a-half-mile walking trail that leads visitors to 16 historically important places in Boston. The Freedom Trail has been preserved since 1958 and still remains a walk through Revolutionary history. The trail takes visitors to some of the museums, churches, meeting houses and other key locations in Boston's Revolutionary War history. The Freedom Trail is free of charge to walk and begins at the historic Boston Common. Hotel packages, walking tours and group tours are also available.

The Franklin Park Zoo, along with its sister zoo in Stoneham, Massachusetts, is run by Zoo New England and is spread over 72 acres in Boston's Franklin Park section. The zoo is open year-round and features a full slate of foreign and domestic animals. The Franklin Park Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Accreditation Commission. It features more than 220 species of animals throughout 10 exhibit areas, including The Tropical Forest, Kalahari Kingdom and the Bird's World, among others.
