Get Lean and Build Muscle Fast - One of the Biggest Mistakes in Eating to Get Lean and Build Muscle

When you are trying to get lean and build muscle fast, one of the biggest mistakes you want to avoid is filling your body with "empty calories".
These calories are included in your daily caloric intake count but they do little to nothing to give your body what it needs to achieve your goals.
In fact consumption of these types of calories may be what's sabotaging your efforts to get the body you want.
Let me explain why.
First, let's define in standard layman's terms what an empty calorie is.
An empty calorie is a unit of food measurement that contains little or no nutritional value.
Typically the empty calorie lies in your processed foods, alcohol, and most junk food.
It's a rascally little booger too because it doesn't try to hide from us at all.
The empty calorie knows that because of its desirable taste and our natural craving for treats, it can post proudly on any food or drink label without blinking an eye.
Here is why the empty calorie is a problem for us.
Everyone knows that you have to lose fat to get lean.
To lose one pound of fat you need to create a 3500 calorie deficit.
That is accomplished by burning more calories than you consume and that the body uses to function.
One way to achieve this is to limit your caloric intake.
But you don't want to end up starving yourself because that creates problems in your attempts to get lean as well.
So you have to think about what you eat to get the most from the calories you're going to consume.
For example, if you were to consume 2 Krispy Kreme chocolate frosted donuts and a large vanilla latte, (Mmm a favorite combination of mine...
flavor wise), you would be taking in approximately 350 calories of bad fats and unhealthy carbs.
This meal may carry you for an hour or two at the most before you stomach starts growling for more.
And most likely, because of the high sugar content you would come down off of that sugar high and crash like a freight train running smack into a brick wall.
No energy for working out and starving while waiting for your next meal.
Five of these meals and you'll have met your caloric requirement for weight loss and only have 12 hours left in the day to go without eating.
Now, how about trying a delicious baked sweet potato, 5 spears of broccoli, and 4 ounces of grilled salmon.
That's a great 350 calorie meal filled with protein, healthy carbs, and good fats.
This meal will typically comfort your belly for at least 3 hours and fill your body with the best nutrients to keep you energized.
You can eat 5 meals like this throughout the day and not have any extending periods of feeling hungry.
In fact, an hour after this meal and you'll be thriving on the energy you need to workout, go hiking, swimming, or even go for a run.
These calories fall no where near the category of an empty calorie.
So Consider what you are eating and whether those calories give you what you need to get lean and build muscle fast.
Otherwise, filling your plate with empty calories is a sure fire way to keep you the furthest for your goals.
