- 1). Mark the hole on the tile with a marker or grease pencil. Use a compass to help you outline a perfect circle.
- 2). Drill a 1/2-inch hole in the center of the circle outlined on the tile with a carbide drill bit and an electric drill.
- 3). Place a carbide rod saw into the hole so that one end sticks into it. The rod saw resembles a hacksaw blade except that it is round instead of flat.
- 4). Connect the rod saw to your hacksaw blade.
- 5). Cut a line from the 1/2-inch hole in the tile to the edge of the circle. Follow the line for your circle as you cut.
- 6). Slow down your cut when you get within 2 inches of completing your cut. Make sure you support the back side of the tile on a flat surface while cutting to prevent it from cracking.
