• If you are a stay-at-home parent or someone with experience in child care, one of the best ways to make extra income might be watching a child out of your home, especially if you already have children; the child you watch can become part of your daily routine and family activities. While you might have to set an extra place at the table, you will likely find that if you choose carefully, the child will fit right into your normal routines. Be sure that the parent is willing to allow you to drive their child in your car (in a proper safety seat) when you run errands or go to the park, etc. You will also want to ensure that your discipline methods are similar and that you mesh with the personality of the child. • Freelance writing jobs can help you bring in money when you are in a pinch. Consider looking at websites such as Elance or Rent-A-Coder, in which you can bid on jobs that interest you. If you are a talented writer, you can earn some extra money in 30 minutes to an hour of work.
  
  

Selling Stuff

• Websites such as eBay and craigslist are great for selling items you no longer use. One person's junk is another person's treasure, so go through your attic, basement or storage shed to find items your family no longer uses on a regular basis. Take pictures, write a description of the item, then place the item for sale online. Alternatively, you could find several items to sell and hold a yard sale. If you hold a yard or garage sale, be sure to post signs at the ends of your block to attract bargain hunters.

• Apply to companies such as Focusline or 20/20 Research that pay consumers money to participate in focus groups. If you are accepted, you will be asked to share your opinion on a product either in person or online in exchange for payment. Often times, individuals are able to earn $30 to $100 for participation in an in-person focus group lasting only an hour or two.
