Memorable Kids Birthday Parties

Planning birthday parties are fun!  But we have all felt the stress of them from time to time.  So much planning goes into it and then a quick two hours, and it's done.  But, nevertheless, we want our children to have the perfect day celebrating "them" so we do our best to make that happen.  When it comes to selecting the perfect kids birthday invitations, there are so many options out there.  Princess party invitations, laser tag invitations, barnyard invitations, and the list goes on.  Or, if you are not doing a theme, a photo birthday invitation is always a great choice.  Those are definitely invitations people will keep, and they make a great keepsake for your scrapbook also.

Choosing a theme is the first thing you need to do.  Everything is built around the theme of the party.  From party invitations, games, food and party favors.  Choosing a theme for your child's birthday party is generally easy.  What character is your child watching on tv?  Does your child love a sport?  And there are an array of options out there on the internet of products to coordinate with every theme.

Once you have decided on a theme and how many guests will be attending, you must then decide whether you have the space to host this in your home.  Or, do you have a park closeby, or a community center where you don't have to worry about people making a mess at your house.  You may also want to consider whether it is a kids drop off party or if the adults are welcome to stay.  The usual age to drop kids off is around six.  Don't forget to have and end time on your party invitation so you don't end up with some lingering guests hanging around for hours.  Two to three hours is perfect for a kids birthday party.

Depending on the age of your child, you might want to involve them in the party planning.  It definitely helps them learn and see how much work goes in to party planning.  Children love to get involved and don't forget to have your thank you cards ready so that they can thank every guest who brought a present for them.  If they are too young to write, you can do it for them but you should have them sit with you so you teach them early that it is part of what we do when we are given a gift.
