- There are so many natural wonders in and around Las Vegas for kids to enjoy, it will be hard to decide which to do. Visit Floyd Lamb Park, a preserve with large lawns, natural desert stretches and several ponds. For younger kids, Lone Mountain Park features the 5-acre Children's Discovery Playground, surrounded by picnic areas and grills. The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area has majestic cliffs of volcanic rock, fossils, petroglyphs and plenty of trails. Or try the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve, home to thousands of birds and set along 140 acres of tree- and pond-covered land.
- You may want to take your kids to a show, and Las Vegas offers many. The Mirage Las Vegas Volcano Show features smoke, earth rumblings and fire that will light up the night. Revel at the Bellagio Fountains, lit up in myriad colors as they dance to various styles of music, or go see the Blue Man Group, those silent bald men at the Venetian who will amaze with their percussive skills and make you laugh at the same time.
- The Adventuredome is sure to be a hit. It is 5 acres of 24 rides and attractions, located in the Circus Circus Hotel. Bonnie Springs Old Nevada is a real Old West mining town that kids will love -- boasting a saloon, shops and a museum. Take a tour of the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory (and enjoy free samples!), or enjoy Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, an ocean sanctuary inside the Mirage Hotel. Don't miss M&M's World, the Las Vegas Cyber Speedway, the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef or Niketown.
