- 1). Insert a blank, recordable CD or DVD into your computer's optical disc drive.
- 2). Open the "Start" menu and click "Control Panel."
- 3). Click the "Backup and Restore" icon, or click the "Backup and Restore" link under the System and Security heading.
- 4). Click the "Create a system repair disc" link in the left panel of the window. A new window titled "Create a system repair disc" appears.
- 5). Click the drop-down menu next to "Drive" and select the optical drive with a blank disc inserted.
- 6). Click the "Create Disc" button to burn the repair disc. This process takes approximately five minutes.
- 7). Click "OK" and "Close" when the disc creation process is complete.
