Today I am going to look at 3 keys that you will need for your sales letter. You may think that this skill, and it is a skill, is not needed for your business but think how much more effective your business could be if you follow a few basic guidelines to convert prospects/visitors into sales.
Lets get started. The first thing you will need in your sales copy is a
1)Great Layout
Great layout in a seriously converting sales letter will involve
a)A Headline
b)Black text on a white background
c)An easy on the eye font such as Tahoma, Arial, Verdana
d)Narrow the width of your letter to not fill a computer screen; it should only fill 75-80% of the screen
e)Do not overuse colors.
This layout will achieve one principal objective-it will get people to read it because all of these factors from a) to e) are designed to make it easy on the human eye to read.
Your humdinger of a sales letter will not convert if nobody actually reads it!
2)Length of Sales Letter
There is a large number of people who say that they hate long sales letters but guess what? Long sales letters work and if you want to writes a high converting sales letter, make it long. And if you dont believe me, have a look at sales letters of the top internet marketers and you will see that there is not a short one among them.
3)Number of pages
One(1).
There should be no other pages that you need people to visit; everything you have to say should be contained on one page with the minimum of distractions or outbound links.
In a later article I will go into more detail about how to craft a great headline, sub headline etc. but for now you should have a look again at the 3 essentials outlined above which are critical to every great sales letter and embrace the simplicity and effectiveness of this structure.
