Hemorrhoids are usually just swelling or inflammation of veins in the anus or rectum.

You may start to have problems as you get older or if you are a women possibly during pregnancy.
I have had problems with hemorrhoids for the last few years as I have gotten older.
I learned what methods helped me relieve my occasional problem.
I preferred using a natural hemorrhoid cure and found a few methods that worked very well for me.
I will describe some of them in this article.
Hemorrhoids are usually not dangerous and they are not life threatening.
Usually, they will go away after a few days.
If you are lucky then you can have them and not even be aware because you will feel no pain or irritation and show no symptoms.
If it occurs inside the rectum they are classified as internal hemorrhoids.
The most common symptom of internal hemorrhoids is blood that covers your stool.
You may spot it by seeing blood on the toilet paper you are using.
You will notice external hemorrhoids which may include swelling or a hard lump around your anus.
This is the result of a blood clot and is commonly known as a protruding hemorrhoid.
If the vein should rupture and a blodd clot forms then it is called a thrombosed hemorrhoid.
There are many types of prevention techniques you practice to lesson the likelihood you will get hemorrhoids.
The most important thing you can do is drink lots of fluids to keep your body hydrated.
This is important to general health.
Also, eating more dietary fiber found in fruits, vegetables, some nuts and many types of cereals will also help in the prevention.
These help to keep the stool soft and lesson the problems of straining during bowel movement.
If you suffer from hemorrhoids you should avoid using any type of laxative and should avoid straining during a bowel movement.
Many adults do not get enough fiber in their diet and should think about using a fiber supplement to make up the difference if they are not going to eat enough fiber naturally.
Hemorrhoids are usually temporary, lasting a few days.
There is no cure for hemorrhoids.
Treatment vary, but usually consist of a combination of warm baths, cold compress to reduce any swelling or a topical analgesic which will provide temporary itching or burning relief .

Natural treatments consist of taking herbs and dietary supplements.
These can strengthen the vein wall and may help reduce your chances of getting hemorrhoids.
Some of the herbs available are Buthcers's Brown, Bromelain, Horse-Chestnut and Japanese Pagoda Tree extracts.
Also, drinking pure aloe juice may help relieve any itching or swelling.
Natural astrindents or soothing creams are available for topical applications.
These consist of Witch Hazel, Cranesbill, Aloe Vera and honey.
Also, people have claimed benefits by drinking chamomile tea a few times a day.
I have stressed this throughout the article and I will say it again.
Fiber is very important.
Plantain and Psyllium seed husks are rich in fiber and can help soften your stool which will make you less likely to strain.
A hand held shower massage used with cold water can help shrink any swelling you may have.
