Montenegro tourism in short – A quick journey with Montenegro

Montenegro is a country of approx 400,000. It was originally part of Yugoslavia and then Serbia. It is easily found as it is opposite Italy over the Adriatic sea towards the Dalmatian coast.

As of 2011, Montenegro has seen an increase in investment from Eurasian and Norwegian visitors. Property has rose by almost 50% since the Lehman brothers bank crash in America and has since then held the 30% increase. Montenegro is particularly popular for Polish, Dutch, Serbian Russian and Irish tourists. It boasts three very impressive old towns in Herceg Novi, Kotor and Budva. Budva is more popular among Russian tourists. Montenegro has a really low rate of crime. Locals say that this is due to their small population and the shame of local gossip. Montenegro boasts fabulous restaurants with amazing scenery and good value. Montenegro is known as a hidden gem.

If the country wants more visitors they need to focus on marketing what they have in abundance. Friendly people, beautiful scenery, great climate, long promenades, great restaurants, calm and crystal clear swimming waters, orthodox history and impressive old churches , beautiful looking people and plenty of activities. A flight to Montenegro takes about 3 hours and you can fly into either Dubrovnik or Tivat airport. The environment is a priority for the Montenegrin government as their number one industry is tourism and most jobs are connected to this. There is huge potential for tourism if marketing is taken seriously enough. Given its beauty proximity to Europe and Russia and cheap prices the potential Market is mind boggling.

Montenegro living and www.Montenegro.ie were one of the first English and Irish run operations in Montenegro and these businesses help to promote Montenegro and adverse useful itineraries that are a great help if you don't have long to stay. Baoisici is a beautiful family tourist location with magnificent views of Lovcen (Montenegros tallest mountain and burial place of previous ruler). It also boasts fabulous views over the Boka Kotorska bay. Recently, Baosici introduced paragliding to the Boka Kotorska bay for 40 euro for two people. This is the best way to get an overview of this region. Rentals in Montenegro took a dip during the world economic crisis but is quickly regaining tourists from various regions. Accommodation in Montenegro varies a lot. Currently there is no five star hotel.

However, Ownersdirect.co.uk, Novosol, Montenegro living and www.Montenegro.ie offer reliable solutions. Be sure to check are taxes being paid when selecting a rental agency and consider the payment terms. Ideally, you want to pay 10% to book, 50% before arrival and 40% a few days after you arrive and are happy with the value you are getting. Taxis are quite honest here and most White taxis charge by the meter no more than 1 euro a mile. You can also rent a scooter for 15 euro a day and a car for about 50 per day depending on how long you will keep it for. You can pint a nice pint of Lasko beer for one euro and a very good steak dinner with all the trimmings for 14 euro.

When all is said and done Montenegro is a trip not to be missed and renting accommodation is reliable and well worth analysis before departure.
