Sources of Vitamin D

Our bodies need an assortment of vitamins and minerals to help us live functional lives.
We emphasize the need for protein and water in our diets.
Vitamin C is also being pushed.
But in the end, one of the most neglected and most important vitamins we need is vitamin D.
Vitamin D is found in several sources, natural and via food, but how often do we think about this important nutrient? It's important to note that vitamin D is not directly associated with calcium, though rickets can be a cause for a lack of vitamin D and calcium.
Your body can get vitamin D by sitting out in the sun or by drinking milk, but why is vitamin D important and what does it do for us? Absorption-It helps the body to absorb calcium (the reason why it is commonly linked to calcium).
This helps in providing people with stronger bones and helps fight against skeletal disorders.
Immune System Boost-Much like protein and water, vitamin D helps boost the immune system.
It helps vitamins to help bolster the system by fortifying it against diseases and germs.
Skin Appearance-Your skin is a direct reflection of vitamin D (one of the reasons people like to lay out in the sun).
The silky smooth appearance is a result of proper sun exposure because it doubles as an exfoliation of the skin and a purifier.
Whatever the case may be, we should not neglect taking in proper amounts of vitamin D no matter what source it is.
It is essential for a healthy body.
