- Named after the president who frequented the region to enjoy its warm springs, the F. D. Roosevelt State Park features many historic buildings and amenities originally built through F.D.R.'s Civilian Conservation Corps. The campground offers 140 tent, trailer and RV campsites; 14 rustic "back-country" sites; 22 cottages and two group camps, which sleep 75 to 100 people. For day trips, you can also rent one of the two picnic shelters. During your visit, enjoy amenities such as a trading post with general camping goods, a natural spring-fed pool and a man-made swimming pool. Hikers can traverse the state park's various trails, winding up to 1,395 feet atop Pine Mountain.
- Conveniently located just of off I-75, Indian Springs State Park features 88 campsites, 10 cottages and one group shelter. As its name indicates, the park's history goes back to the Creek tribe's use of the local spring waters for their healing properties. The area became a popular resort destination in the 1800s. Like the F. D. Roosevelt State Park, many structures at Indian Springs were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. The centerpiece of the park is its 105-acre lake, which provides opportunities for swimming, fishing, boating and water sports.
- Located near I-75 and close to Indian Springs State Park, High Falls State Park is the site of what was once the bustling industrial town of High Falls. It was abandoned in the 1880s when the railroad adopted a new route far from the town. You can still visit the grist mill foundations of the historic town. Natural features include a waterfall and the Towaliga River. High Falls offers 103 campsites and six yurts. Amenities include picnic areas and picnic shelters, canoe rental for exploring the river and a natural swimming pool. Hikers can enjoy 4.5 miles of trails.
- The United States Army Corps of Engineers manages six campgrounds around West Point Lake, situated along the border with Alabama. Five of these require a fee and have resident park attendants available all year. The sixth, Ringer campground, is open to the public free of charge and has no park attendants. Among the six campgrounds, several offer sites with electricity and water hookups, primitive campsites, group campgrounds and shower houses. Depending on your preferences, you can select a campground with your desired combination of amenities, including beaches, boat ramps, hiking trails, sports grounds and amphitheaters.
