- 1). Consult your owner's manual to locate your OnStar unit. In GM-made cars, vans and SUVs, it will commonly be in the hatch or trunk. In trucks, it is commonly behind the rear-most seats.
- 2). Remove any interior paneling that covers the box. This will require you to unscrew the panels in several places.
- 3). Unplug the three large, white, plastic plugs that run into the OnStar box.
- 4). Replace the interior paneling. Your OnStar is now disabled.
