- 1). Place the pages of the document into a stack with the printed sides facing up and the tops of the pages pointed toward the inside of the feeder on top of the Brother MFC-7820N. Slide the document into the feeder until it stops.
- 2). Push in the plastic guides on the sides of the feeder in until they touch the edges of the document.
- 3). Rotate the stabilizer on the outside of the feeder up and out to hold the pages of the document in place. The document should now be securely loaded into the feeder.
- 4). Push the "Scan" button on the control panel of the MFC-7820N.
- 5). Push the up-arrow or down-arrow button to select the desired destination for the scanned image. "Scan to Email" sends the image to your computer's default email client, "Scan to Image" sends it to your image editing program, "Scan to OCR" sends it to the ScanSoft text recognition program included with the MFC-7820N software and "Scan to File" saves the image as a file on your computer's hard drive.
- 6). Push the "Set" button on the MFC-7820N control panel to scan the document and send it to the destination you selected.
