How to Transfer Cell Phone Information to a New Unlocked Phone

1). Power off your old mobile phone. Remove the back cover.
2). Disconnect the battery from the phone to reveal the SIM card. A SIM card or "Subscriber Identity Module" is a thumb-sized memory card that stores saved information. Remove the SIM card.
3). Open the back of the unlocked phone. Remove the battery. Place the SIM card in the unlocked phone. Replace the battery and cover, then power on the mobile device.

1). Purchase a data transfer computer software program such as "Datapilot."
2). Install the transfer software on a desktop or notebook computer. Connect your old phone to the computer with a USB cable. Transfer the information stored on the mobile to the software program. Save the information.
3). Disconnect your old phone and plug in your new unlocked cell phone via the USB cable. Open the saved document file and transfer the information to the new phone.
