- 1). Remove the fastener securing the mirror the windshield. Usually, there is a mounting bracket that the mirror is connected to so the mirror is not stuck directly to the windshield. The fastener can be a screw, clip or bolt. Use a Phillips screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver or socket wrench to remove the fastener.
- 2). Pull the mirror off the bracket and disconnect its electrical wiring-connector. Remove the mirror from the vehicle's windshield.
- 3). Connect the electrical wiring-connector of the auto-dimming mirror to the bracket and place it onto the windshield. Reattach the fasteners and turn the engine on to test the mirror.
