- 1). Purchase a fuel injector cleaner from the auto parts store. The fuel injector cleaner is a solution of various chemicals that act to disintegrate the small deposits of dirt that have clogged the fuel injector.
- 2). Drive the vehicle until it is close to empty.
- 3). Drive to a gas station.
- 4). Open the fuel filler cap.
- 5). Pour the contents of the fuel injector cleaner in the fuel tank. You can use any brand fuel injector cleaner as they all have very similar chemicals used in them. STP and Lucas fuel injector cleaners are highly recommended as they have been on the market for a long time and are known to work well.
- 6). Fill the tank with fuel.
