- Even when you are cooking indoors, you can give foods a barbecued flavor by using hickory smoked salt. This works well with meats that are traditionally cooked on the barbecue, such as burgers, steaks, ribs, chicken, turkey and fish. You can also sprinkle the smoked salt in barbecue sauce and use that for cooking or as a condiment.
- Hickory smoked salt can also be used to flavor side dishes such as pasta, baked beans, cooked vegetables, soups and salads. Try it anywhere that you might use plain salt and/or smoke flavoring.
- You can make your own hickory-smoked almonds by sprinkling hickory smoked salt on raw nuts. Added to hot buttered popcorn it makes an unusual snack. Rub it on the rim of a glass of bloody Mary for an interesting change of pace.
