- Several gastrointestinal side effects are relatively common with Novo-Clindamycin. These include mild diarrhea, gas, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain or cramps. Other somewhat common side effects include dizziness, light headedness and headache.
- Less common Novo-Clindamycin side effects include rectal or genital itching, constipation, joint or muscle pain and throat irritation.
- Novo-Clindamycin can cause pseudomembranous colitis, a serious disorder with symptoms of severe diarrhea and abdominal cramping. This may occur several weeks after treatment ends.
- Antibiotic use can result in fungal infections, mainly vaginal yeast infections and oral thrush.
- Rarely, some people have an allergic reaction to Novo-Clindamycin. Signs are difficulty breathing, rash or hives, itching and swelling.
