Allergy Symptoms to Watch Out For

There are a few allergy symptoms to watch out for even if you do not think you suffer from allergies as a general rule.
Allergy symptoms can be very mild such as a tickly nose or they can be extremely severe and life threatening.
A very common symptom is itchy and streaming eyes.
This is a very common reaction to hay fever.
Hay fever occurs in the summer months when there are higher levels of pollen in the air.
If your eyes start streaming at this time of year then you are probably a hay fever sufferer.
Another very common allergy symptom is hives.
These are extremely itchy raised bumps that appear suddenly and randomly over any part of the body.
This condition is often referred to as urticaria and can be triggered by a host of reasons.
Some people get this reaction when exposed to everyday things such as air conditioners or certain foods.
Intolerance to food is a common cause for allergic reactions in some people.
You may notice that after you eat or drink certain substances you begin to feel nauseous or break out in rashes on the body.
Sometimes people get this type of reaction but are unsure of which food is responsible for triggering it.
In such a case a careful process of elimination is necessary and you may have to consume one food type at a time to identify the cause.
Certain animals often cause allergic reactions and the allergy symptoms to watch out for when you come into contact with cats in particular are itching, sneezing, and streaming eyes.
Treatment for allergy symptoms are usually antihistamines.
Allergies often occur when the body treats harmless substances taken in by the body as a threat and releases histamines to tackle it.
Antihistamines work by blocking the histamine receptors in the brain and thus preventing the reaction.
