- 1). Use pliers to remove the nut securing the negative cable to the battery. Lift the cable and move it away from the post to prevent shock while you are removing the Grand Prix's radio.
- 2). Sit in the driver's seat. Open the ashtray located underneath the radio. Push the metal trim inside of the ashtray to release it from the dashboard. Pull it straight out.
- 3). Inspect the area around the ashtray cavity. Locate the two pin fasteners. Pull the fasteners out with a pair of pliers.
- 4). Hold the bottom half of the radio trim firmly. Pull it sharply to unhook it from the dash. It's attached by two hidden clips. When they disengage, the trim pops off.
- 5). Remove the two Phillips screws from the radio chassis. Scoot the radio toward you to access the rear. Unplug the two cables to unhook it.
