Straightforward Stretches That Help You Fight Back Pain

To do it, you need to lie down flat on the floor with your face towards the floor and the back towards the ceiling. Now, get your hands next to the shoulders and place your palms strongly on the ground. With assistance from your palms, lift your body in a way that your back is arched and the neck is stretched out.

The 'knees to chest stretch' is another effective cure for back pain. You are required to lie down on the floor for this also. After you've thought the position, draw your knees towards your body. Hold them in place with your arms and make sure that they're touching your chest. Also, don't forget to keep your tailbone as straight as practical while clinging on to your knees. Continue in this position for no less than 15-20 seconds.

Another stretch that may help offer sciatic discomfort alleviation is the rotation stretch. For this, stand straight with your feet shoulder width apart. Softly, revolve your chest and shoulders in one specific direction. If you are revolving your body towards the right, then your right shoulder should be pointing in the same direction. Alternate with both the sides.

The simple hamstring stretch can also help you combat back stiffness. For this, you must sit down on the floor. Fold one leg towards yourself and stretch the other one out on the ground. Then bend forward and try touching the toes of the extended leg with both of your hands. Once you've touched them, hold the position for one or two seconds before coming back to your original position. Now try the same with the other leg.

Sideways bending, when done constantly, can help back trouble sufferers deal with their status as well. You have got to sit on the floor and cross your legs for this exercise. Then bring your palms together and join them before raising them above your head. Keep your arms as straight as practicable while doing so. Do not forget to keep them extended to the maximum as you bend towards a specific side. Then go on with the same on the opposite side.

Though very effective, these stretches are usually more successful at remedying mild to moderate back trouble. Therefore, they might not be enough for those with severe sciatic pain. However, that shouldn't dissuade you from giving the same a try to see if they work for your particular condition.
