- 1). Clean the window panes to be sure they are free of dust for proper adhesion of the silicone caulking.
- 2). Insert the tube of silicone caulk into the caulking gun and snip off the tip of the tube.
- 3). Apply a thin bead of caulk around each window pane where the glass and the wood framing meet.
- 4). Let the silicone caulk dry and harden.
- 1). Measure the window pane to be sealed and cut a piece of weatherstripping from the roll to the length of your measurement.
- 2). Remove the paper backing and apply the weatherstripping to the edges where the glass and wooden window frame meet.
- 3). Use your finger to press the weatherstripping firmly into place.
- 4). Continue measuring, cutting and applying the weatherstripping around the edges of each pane of glass to seal out drafts.
