- 1). Purchase the transition track that goes with the type of flooring you have.
- 2). Install the pre-drilled transition track into the floor by nailing or screwing it between the two rooms. The flat side should be facing the floor. The strip needs to lay flat and straight without buckling.
- 3). Snap the flooring in alongside the transition track.
- 4). Cut the transition strip to fit. It can be made shorter to fit in doorways. The height can be adjusted as well to adapt to the flooring in both rooms. Sand rough edges on the strip.
- 5). Install the transition strip into the ribs of the track. Lightly tap the strip into place with a hammer.
