Born in Japan on December 21, 1964, Kunihiko Ikuhara jumped into anime at an early age, gaining employment at Toei Douga at just 22. Ten years later, he went on to create Be-Papas and then in 1997, he won the Best Television Series Award and the Kobe Award for Revolutionary Girl Utena.
