- 1). Search the Web for Dreamweaver templates. There are many sites specializing in free templates and others that offer template packages for a modest fee.
- 2). Click on the link to the template you decide to use and save the file to your hard drive.
- 3). Unzip the file and take note of the file structure. The templates will probably come with support files like images, a sample HTML file and a CSS (cascading style sheet) file.
- 4). Copy the support files into your local website directory. Make sure to keep the same folder structure.
- 5). Copy the templates--the files that end .dwt--into a folder called Templates in your site's local directory.
- 1). Go to "File" and choose "New" to create a new page using the template.
- 2). Click on your site name and then on the template name. If you have only one site defined, it will be the only name in the "Site" column.
- 3). Name your page and click "Save."
- 4). Add your page content.
- 5). Save and publish when you are finished.
