Like any other major holiday, Fourth of July is also a time for finding furniture deals. This sale doesn't quite rank with Memorial Day sales or year end in terms of finding huge markdowns, but you can still find attractive prices.

You also have to remember that no one sale is the perfect one, simply because everything is never on sale all at once, even at store-wide sales. That said, sales do offer an opportunity to look and maybe actually find what you are looking for.

This is a good time to look for patio furniture, indoor/outdoor rugs, fire pits and other accessories for outdoor or patio use.

This is also a good time to buy kids items, as demand for back to school items begins. And while you are at it look for mattresses, and other home furnishing items too, because a lot of stores hold clearance sales around this time.

Where to Find July 4 Furniture and Home Decor Deals

The best place to check might be your local furniture store, especially if you like to bargain. Most independent store owners are more open to that. Home Depot is offering up to 40% on patio furniture, but please note that the sale is online only and you not in-store. The patio furniture ranges from simple accents and accessories to dining sets and conversation sets in different styles and materials.

JC Penney

JC Penney has a large clearance sale on with products including furniture at up to 70% off.

In addition to this patio furniture is 50-60% off, while furniture and mattresses are 40% off. This includes home furnishings from the JCP brand shops.

Macy's

Macy's is offering 55-60% off on outdoor furniture, along with free delivery on furniture and mattress purchases over $999. There are price reductions on home furniture in many different categories.

Sears

If you are looking for mattresses, Sears has them at 50-60% off. Some mattresses come with free boxsprings, and there is free delivery on mattress purchases over $599. Outdoor furniture is up to 50% off with free delivery on purchases over $399.

Overstock.com

Overstock.com has an extra 10% off select furniture, and 15% off select rugs. Outdoor furniture is up to 25% off. Mattresses are an extra 10% off. If you have a child heading out for college, this might be a good place to check out.

Pottery Barn

Pottery Barn has a huge sale in progress with markdowns in several categories. It is offering up to 60% on several items including outdoor furniture and accessories. A 40% off bedding sale has been extended to July 3.

PB Teen

PB Teens has hundreds of items at up to 75% off. This includes furniture, bedding, accessories, lighting and window treatments.

Bassett Furniture

There is a storewide Fourth of July sale at Basset's with 25% off on hundreds of items, across all different categories. You can also save 40-50% off clearance items. In mattresses there is a Sealy closeout event on Emerald Elite and Royalty West at considerable savings.

West Elm

There is a 70% off sale on clearance items at West Elm which is holding an end of the season sale on furniture, bedding and accessories. There is free shipping on a large number of items, but check before you buy.
