Both can be used for many hours before they have to be refueled or recharged.
However, the gas powered model because of the pollution it creates is prohibited in many states.
Special Features Medical scooters offer many features to help the physically impaired operate them more easily.
Some of these features include: a swivel seat, a headlight, an adjustable seat, a locking mechanism, and a basket in the back.
Medical scooters are also available in a variety of models and colors.
Prices Most scooters are reasonably priced.
Many companies offer new scooters starting at only $800.
If you want a top of the line scooter with all the bells and whistles, if could cost you over $5,000.
If you are on a strict budget, you may wish purchase a pre-owned scooter from your dealer.
Advantages over Wheelchairs Medical scooter have several advantages over a motorized wheelchair.
The two most important are maneuverability and portability.
Motorized wheelchairs usually do not fold up and, therefore, are difficult to transport.
You might need to purchase or rent a van or a small truck just to drive them around.
They also may not fit through some doorways.
