Girls, feel free to ignore this article as simply put, it doesnt apply to you. Guys, if youve been clubbing before you will know that as a guy (and in particular a group of guys), getting into a bar or nightclub can be an ordeal to say the least. Ironically, bars and nightclubs that are like this generally are the places to go, given that the less blokes inside, the better it is for you (if you manage to get past the bouncers.
Aside from the aforementioned reason, bouncers also are hesitant to let large groups of boys in to bars and nightclubs, simply because this at times can be a recipe for violence. It is for the same reason a lot of bars and nightclub wont book bucks nights.
So for the newbie to the bar and nightclub scene, there are various ways and means of circumventing this issue, and below are just a few.
Get to the bar or nightclub early
Before 9.30, the bouncers tend to be pretty relaxed on who they let in. Its a little difficult for them to justify not letting you into the bar or nightclub when it is empty. In addition, at this point chances are you arent drunk yet and as such less likely to cause mischief.
Break up into separate groups.
If you are a group of 5 guys, then split up into two small groups and try get in. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to work out why you should do this.
Ask the bouncer how his night has been
Or just generally be polite. Bouncers, despite what you think, have hearts and are less inclined to not let you into the bar or nightclub if they like you.
Collared shirts
This works on 2 levels. Number 1, bar and nightclub bouncers use this as an excuse sometimes to not let people in, however the main reason is that guys wearing collared shirts appear less likely to be trouble makers and as such, are less of a liability to let into the bar or nightclub.
Get girls.
If you are with girls, then 99% of the time bouncers will let you sail past. If you are having a boys night out, then just start a conversation with a bunch of girls on the way in and problem solved. Most girls are used to this, so just say you will buy them a drink if they help you get in and then RUNAWAY
