- 1). Eat five meals per day on a regular schedule. Eating on a regular schedule will ensure that you receive the maximum amount of calories possible from your diet and do not miss a meal. Begin your day with a large breakfast, followed by a brunch, large lunch, mid-afternoon meal and a large dinner.
- 2). Drink fruit juice throughout the day. Fruit juice is a high-calorie, natural drink that will help you achieve your dietary goals as well as keep your body hydrated. Types of fruit juice to drink regularly include orange, peach, pear, papaya, grape and cranberry.
- 3). Add 1 cup of nuts or seeds to at least two meals a day. Nuts and seeds are high in calories and protein, which will help you meet your daily goals. Experiment with different types of nuts and seeds and with various ways to incorporate them into your meals. For example, add a cup of nuts into your regular cookie recipe, morning cereal or salad.
- 4). Switch your regular milk for enriched whole milk. Enriched whole milk has a high amount of fat, calories and vitamins. This small adjustment to your diet does not require you to consume any more than usual while greatly increasing your caloric intake.
