Amygdalin is a kind of apricot kernel extract which was extract in the early twenty century. Since it has been first used to treat on cancer, the anti-cancer effect of amygdalin has lots of disputes in academic community. And there are two totally different opinions.

The most of alkaloids extracted from Catharanthus roseus has the effect of anti-cancer especially the vincaleukoblastinum and vincristine and they have been used in clinic treatment. Twenty two patients with Hodgkin's disease have treated by using vinblastine sulfate and eleven patients with lymphatic sarcoma also take the treatment of vinblastine sulfate. Using the vinblastine sulfate has side effects of myalgia, feeling of numbness, losing of appetite and nausea and vomiting. This extract has a significant and fast effect on treating malignant lymphoma. On clinic, two patients with leukemia have totally cured.

Taxol is a plant extract which has a significant effect on anti-neoplastic. In 1963, American chemists M.C. Wani and Wall firstly extracted the crude extract of taxol from pacific yew. In the test, they found that crude extract of taxol has a high activity of cancer cell of rats and they confirmed the chemical construction of this active ingredient and named it as taxol. Through the research on clinic, taxol is mainly used to treat on ovarian cancer and breast cancer. It also has curative effect on lung cancer, lymphoma and some other cancers.

There are many plants can extract the elements with the effect of anti-cancer. Contrast to these effective plants, the anti-cancer effect of apricot extract still has more evidences.
