Vacationers as well as locals like to partake in the annual Hatsumode celebration. This celebration is known to set forth positive energies and an excellent foundation for the New Year. Hatsumode 2015 empowers people's lives with joy, prosperity, and health. This celebration starts at midnight. New Year's Ohana Festival is something fun for the whole family. Here, community members head on over to the Cultural Center and neighboring Moiliili Field for a day of celebration. Here attendees enjoy food, entertainment and multicultural events. It is held between the hours of 10am-4pm at the Japanese Cultural Center Hawaii, 2454 South Beretania St, Honolulu.
January 17 & 18
Pacific Island Arts Festival features the work of handcraft artisans and fine artists who have their artwork for sale. The Diamond Head of Waikiki located across from the Honolulu Zoo is where this art festival takes place. It runs from 9 am -4 pm. Here there are approximately 75-100 artisans that showcase their crafts at this event.
Waikiki Trolley
Oahu's most popular destinations can be reached from the scenic, convenient and extremely affordable trolley service from Waikiki Trolley. Entertainment, shopping, sightseeing and dining can be reached from this using the Waikiki Trolley service. It stops at over 35 places of interest.
Dave and Buster's
There is plenty of entertainment for the big kids at Dave and Buster's. "EAT DRINK PLAY!" is their motto. It is an upscale entertainment venue that is modern in atmosphere. Delicious food to please the palate at Dave and Buster's along with interactive electronic amusements at the Million Dollar Midway. The Sunset Lana provides visitors with a panoramic ocean view. Seafood, sandwiches, steaks, and pastas are just some of the items on the menu.
Art on the Zoo Fence
An outdoor tropical oasis awaits you on the beautiful island of Waikiki and the Art on the Zoo Fence. Art styles are showcased by the creators of these lovely art pieces in print or original form. Photography, oils, acrylics, and watercolors are some of the mediums you will see.
Contributions to the non-profit group, Zoo Fence Artists are made by Art of The Zoo Fence to ensure that children learn about the various forms of art and its beauty. The Art of The Zoo Fence has been involved in promoting and educating art since 1953. This event takes place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. It is a year round event.

Maita'i Catamaran
For those that like the waterways, there is the Waikiki Beach sailing catamaran. The Maitaèi Catamaran seats 47, has a front boarding ladder and a bar.
