Your Guide to the LouFest Music Festival in St. Louis

St. Louis' live music scene is growing, and one popular addition is LouFest, a two-day indie music festival held in Forest Park. Top national and local musicians perform each year for a large crowd of dedicated fans. Performers for 2015 include Hozier, Ludacris, The Avett Brothers and Young the Giant.

When and Where:

LouFest 2015 is Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13, at Central Field in Forest Park.

Central Field is located off of Wells Drive, east of the Jewel Box. Saturday's headliner is Hozier at 9 p.m., on the Bud Light Stage. Sunday's headliner is The Avett Brothers at 8:30 p.m., also on the Bud Light Stage. For the complete list of bands, see the Loufest website.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for LouFest are available online. A two-day general admission pass is $95. A VIP pass is $350. One day passes are $60 each. All children ages 12 and younger get in free with a paying adult. Those with a valid ticket are allowed to leave and re-enter the festival grounds. LouFest will go on regardless of weather and no refunds will be issued for tickets.

Going Green/Getting Around:

A big part of LouFest is the commitment to going green. There are recycling bins through out the festival grounds to reduce waste. Organizers are also asking everyone to bike or use public transportation as much as possible. Bike riders can take advantage of the free valet bike parking by the festival entrance. Another good way to get to LouFest is Metrolink.

Take the train to the Forest Park-DeBaliviere Station, then ride the Forest Park Tolley to Central Field. The trolley runs each day of the festival from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Other Things to Know:

Everyone must pass through security to get into the festival. Bags will be checked for prohibited items like glass bottles, coolers, food and drinks. Pets are also not allowed at the festival. Each person can bring two unopened bottles of water or an empty metal or plastic bottle.

For the Kids:

The music and beer garden may be for adults, but there is a way to keep the kids entertained during LouFest. LouKidz is a special section of the festival grounds for kids of all ages. It's open each day from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. There is family friendly entertainment, games arts & crafts and much more.
