- 1). Qualified applicants for a New Jersey Real Estate License must be at least 18 years old. Applicants must have graduated from high school or have a high school equivalency (GED) certificate.
- 2). Attend a 75-hour pre-licensure course at a licensed school in the state of New Jersey. There are licensed schools in all areas of New Jersey. This course will prepare you for the licensing exam.
- 3). Take and pass the license examination given by the state. After passing the exam, applicants must apply for the issuance of their initial license within one year from the date of completing the real estate course. Forms will be available at the state testing sites to apply for your real estate license.
- 4). Contact MorphoTrak to schedule an appointment for the mandatory fingerprinting. Take with you a photo I.D. and a filled-out Universal Fingerprinting Form, which can be obtained from the MorphoTrak website.
- 5). Contact the brokers in your area regarding joining their real estate firm as a salesperson. After passing the exam, a salesperson must then be sponsored by a broker in order to work.
