The Problem with Working From Home After meeting many people online and after thousands of experiences (and hundreds of mistakes), I have come to understand the one fundamental reason that people fail online.
And what is even more fascinating is that it is something that virtually no one ever considers.
Many people automatically relate their failures online to a lack of tricks, tips, tactics, software, etc.
So they assume that the solution to their problems online is some external factor rather than an Internal one.
Many people would be surprised to learn that they could make exponentially more money online if they simply made one small adjustment to their thinking.
Marketing: The Employee's Mindset What is the employee's mindset? Simple, their mindset is to follow directions and a proven system to achieve a desired result.
This is no different from the mindset of a Fast-Food worker, they learn how to push buttons and flip burgers once, and from that day on they just regurgitate the same actions over and over.
This is synonymous to what most "Marketers" do online, they follow the directions of their Up-line (MLM), Manager, Team Leader, or whatever new names they are going by these days.
But what they don't realize is that by following the same set of rules and never taking any risks they are destined to receive the same results over and over again (which are usually minimal).
So the success of an employee is limited by the company.
They cannot expand beyond the company because their success is contained within this mechanism, therefore their potential success is throttled by the boundaries set forth by whatever company or marketing agency they are working for.
Marketing with The Employer's (Entrepreneurial) Mindset What is the difference between this mindset and the employee's mindset? The main difference in these two mindsets is that those with the entrepreneurial mindset are not bound by the limits of the company because they are the company! Therefore they can expand and adapt as much as they choose.
They can take risks with their business which may lead to a temporary failure but more often than not, that temporary failure is what leads to drastic success online.
Marketing in the Techno-Era We live in a time where we as Internet Marketers can have access to thousands of potential customers almost instantaneously! How Awesome is that? imagine Marketing before the Internet, Marketers had to spend hours just trying to convince a newspaper to show their ads.
And to make matters even worse, they had to spend an arm and a leg just to keep the ads running only to receive a minimal return.
So their only hope of making a living was to charge Higher prices which made it even less likely for customers to take the leap of faith to purchase their product.
But wait, there is more...
To add insult to injury, not only did these marketers have to spend an arm and a leg to pay for potential traffic, they had no way of following up with their potential customers who did not have the money at that very moment but possibly would have bought later on apart from their literal address which would quickly get lost amongst a pile of bills.
Do you See How Easy we have it now? Thanks to the advances in Technology, the work of the marketer has been drastically reduced to such little input that we can literally say that we virtually Market on Auto-Pilot! But with these Advances in technology, there has come an entire wave of Lazy Marketers (spammers) who abuse the tools and give all of us a bad Rep.
But as Ethical Marketers, lets shy away from the Get-Rich-Quick Hype and lets use our skills to harness the true power of the Internet to not only make Sales; but to build relationships.
