Kangaroo Purse Organizer Website
When you order the Kangaroo Purse Organizer, you receive two organizers:
- Large - 14"L x 7"H x 3"W
- Small - 9.5"H x 7"H x 2.75"W
Each organizer is designed to hold up to 70 items. The pockets are to be used for smaller items like sunglasses, pens, keys and cell phones. The center of the organizer is for larger items such as your planner, wallet or make-up bag.
The organizer is portable and can be removed and used in another bag, making it easier to change purses.
Pros
- Available in two colors (black and tan) to accommodate light and dark purses;
- You receive two sizes with each order, a large organizer and a small organizer to accommodate purses of different sizes;
- Organizer is made of a durable polyester.
Cons
- Individual storage pockets are small, making it difficult to get items in and out.
- The website lists cell phones as one of the small items you can keep organized by using one of the storage pockets. In reality, most of the pockets are too small for a cell phone. Even if your cell phone will fit into one of the larger pockets, you'll find it difficult to get to quickly when your phone rings.
- With repeated use, the sides of the organizer do not stay upright. As a result, items tend to fall out of the pockets and into the bottom of your purse;
- With larger purses, the entire unit tends to flip over as you carry your purse throughout the day. This, too, causes small items stored in the organizer to fall out in to the bottom of your purse.
- The center section of the organizer is not wide enough to hold most standard-sized wallets along with anything else like a planner or cosmetic bag. You end up having to find space for these in the side or bottom of your purse.

Even organized people have areas with which they struggle. For me, it's keeping my purse organized. I've often pondered why I can keep other things neat and organized but not my purse:
- I carry a large purse, and I carry a lot of things in my purse.
- On most days, my schedule is jam-packed. I go from the office to meetings to running errands to kid's activities at night - pulling things in and out of my purse as I go.
- I like cute purses, and they are not always constructed with organization in mind.
That's why I thought the Kangaroo Purse Organizer sounded like the perfect solution. According to the website, this tool would allow me to easily reduce purse clutter and find what I need when I need it.
In reality, after a review of the Kangaroo Purse Organizer, it didn't work for me:
- The organizational pockets did not have enough room, making it difficult to get things in and out. I ended up having to take the entire unit in and out of my purse in order to find and extract what I needed.
- The entire unit had a tendency to flip over on its side, and all of the contents fell out and ended up in the bottom of my purse (the entire situation I was attempting to solve).
- My wallet did not fit well in the center of the organizer.
I've gone back to my tried and true zippered pouches, and I simply sort through my purse on a regular basis to keep it neat and organized. Afterall, it has all the hallmarks of a great approach:
- It's simple;
- It doesn't take a lot of time to implement; and
- It's inexpensive.
When it comes to purse organization, pass on the Kangaroo Purse Organizer.
