Is Myopia Hereditary? Your Vision Improvement Cure of Eye Exercises

Don't allow common myths about eye health to prevent you from achieving your natural vision improvement goals.
One example of such a common myth is the fact that most people assume that their Myopia, also known as nearsightedness, is mainly hereditary.
However, scientific research suggests that this is a common misconception.
As a matter of fact, contrary to popular belief, the evidence suggests that environmental factors, (constant close up work), on devices such as computers, laptops, etc.
and near work related to studying and reading for continual periods of time, triggers Myopia.
Additionally, poor nutrition also plays a role.
Due to the fact that Myopia is mainly caused by environmental factors while heredity plays a minor role, there is an effective natural alternative that can enable you to improve your Myopia.
This remedy is a program of eye exercises.
For instance, according to the National Eye Institute, vision training also known as eye exercises is a viable vision correction alternative.
Here is a quote from their report on vision training: "many patients are convinced that their myopic progression was slowed or reversed by various forms of vision training (eye exercises).
" Scientific research has revealed that while heredity is a factor in Myopia, it does not play as significant a role in causing nearsightedness as excessive close up work does.
For example, here is another quote from the National Eye Institute establishing the main causes of Myopia.
"Reading is the most established risk factor for Myopia.
More recent observations have strengthened the association of the amount of near work with the rate of myopic progression.
It is significant that myopic children have poorer accommodation (focusing power than others).
" The National Eye Institute states that heredity plays a role in cases of Myopia of a high degree.
Furthermore, research refutes heredity as the main factor as statistics show that only 2% of the population are born with deformed eyes.
This is attributed to historical factors related to ancestry.
The vast majority of people were born with healthy eyes due to the fact that their ancestors were hunters and warriors who had to have good vision because their survival skills depended on this factor.
For instance, they had to see clearly and have healthy eyesight in order to defend themselves from predators.
Additionally, close up work was not an issue in those ancient times as they did not have the modern conveniences of technology that we have today.
The Nutrition factor is a component related to poor eyesight in general.
There is indeed a connection between good nutrition and healthier eyesight.
For example, certain antioxidants such as Lutein and Zeaxanthin can reduce the effects of damaging free radicals thereby protecting eye tissue in the Macula; the part of the eye responsible for sharper eyesight.
The natural function of various parts of the eyes can be improved and supported nutritionally by antioxidant eye promoting nutrients such as those found in Vitamin A, C, E and Selenium.
Eye exercises are a natural alternative to glasses, contacts and laser surgery.
Just as the body needs exercise to function in a healthful way, so do the eyes as well that consists of muscles.
According to the National Eye Institute, vision training or eye exercises slows or in some cases even reverses Myopia.
Such eye exercise techniques increase the focusing power of the eyes and strengthens the eye muscles.
Ultimately, this is a process that leads to improved function of the visual system and better natural vision without glasses.
