La Costa Resort was the first destination spa in America when it originally opened in 1965. A recent multi-million dollar renovation brought the resort back to the top of its game. Restaurants include BlueFire Grill, which serves original, coastal cuisine inside or out next to the blue flame of its name. Legends, overlooking the golf course, has sunset happy hour and lobster and prime rib specials.
The resort caters equally well to spa seekers, golf and tennis aficionados, and children. Take a photo tour of La Costa Resort and Spa

La Costa Resort and Spa: Spa
It would be easy to spend the day (maybe a few) at this spa, which is truly a destination. A private swimming pool winds through colorful gardens. Guests can enjoy a light meal al fresco. Inside, 42 treatment rooms are the setting for signature treatments such as the AGUA de la VIDA. La Costa Resort and Spa is also home to The Chopra Center, where guests enjoy complimentary yoga or signature treatments such as the indulgent Pizichilli (warm herbal oils massaged into your skin by four hands).
Evenings in the courtyard, the spa hosts a star-gazing cocktail hour with $99 spa treatment specials, perfect for a unique and relaxing treat. Private feng shui beauty consultations with Billy Yamaguchi are coveted, so reserve in advance.
La Costa Resort and Spa: Recreation
La Costa's two championship Dick Wilson golf courses have hosted PGA tour events for three decades. The World Golf Championships - Accenture Match Play Championship are held here. In tennis, the La Costa Racquet Club hosts the Acura Classic.
Besides being home to the West Coast Tennis Academy, children's program Camp La Costa keeps kids 3-12 years old entertained year-round with supervised activities. A supervised pizza party is available on Friday and Saturday evenings. Babysitters for younger children can be arranged as well. A wealth of family attractions nearby include Legoland, SeaWorld and the San Diego Zoo. La Costa was named the #2 most Family Friendly resort by the Travel Channel.
