- 1). Combine powdered gelatin, glycerin and water in a microwave-safe bowl. Mix well.
- 2). Microwave for 30 seconds for half a cup of gelatin. If you're unsure of how long to microwave, heat it up in 15-second intervals until the gelatin is liquid.
- 3). Stir with a plastic spoon until all lumps are broken down. Pour the gelatin mixture into a separate container.
- 4). Place the container on a bowl of ice and allow it to chill for at least 30 minutes. Once the gelatin has chilled, remove it from the ice.
- 5). Cut out sheets of the gelatin to create fake skin, such as wounds, burns or gashes, or even to modify facial features.
- 6). Experiment with acrylic paints to achieve the desired color for the skin. Using a small paint brush, apply paint to the gelatin in short strokes. Allow the paint to dry.
- 7). Attach the skin to your body using Spirit gum. To remove, use Spirit gum remover or baby oil.
