- 1). Place the left hand ring finger on the third fret of the fourth string.
- 2). Position the left hand middle finger on the second fret of the third string.
- 3). Place the left hand index finger on the first fret of the second string.
- 4). Flatten out the left hand index finger so that it rests on the first fret of both the second and first strings. This is called a "partial barre."
