The Best PvE Characters in "Diablo 2"

After you beat the game in all three difficulties, you can continue to play the game in Player vs. Environment mode to reach higher levels and get better gear. The best way to find better gear is to use items that increase your chance to find magical items. Magic-find gear improves the drop rate of monsters and bosses, which makes it more likely you will find the best items in the game. Unfortunately, magic-find gear does not have the best statistics for beating bosses in the hardest difficulty. Because of this, you will have to balance the amount of magic find you use with other player stats.

The sorceress has several advantages when it comes to magic find. First, she can teleport without having to use specific pieces of armor. This allows her to travel quickly and find bosses and unique monsters. Second, she relies on ranged combat, which means she does not need to focus as much on survivability as others. This means having weaker combat stats will not hurt her as much in PvE. She can use multiple damage types, which is important when it comes to killing difficult monsters.

The paladin has higher survivability than other classes in Diablo 2 because of his auras. He can get higher armor to deal with hard-hitting monsters, higher resist for magic-casting monsters and increase his own damage to kill waves of monsters. He wears a shield that can have very high resists. The hammerdin spec for paladins allows him to be able to kill Baal, the last boss in the game, easily even with 350-400 percent magic find.

The barbarian is a high damage-dealing melee character. He has the ability to kill large waves of monsters with his whirlwind attack. A barbarian specialized for whirlwind can dual wield to get 180 percent magic-find swords to get the finishing kill on monsters for an additional 360 percent magic find. This can let him effectively run 750 percent magic find or more. A barbarian's find-item ability lets him effectively check all monsters for magic items twice. This gives him a second chance to find valuable items.
