One of the hardest thing to do with a new web site is to get the word out.
Blogs like WordPress have functionality in them which sends notifications to various services about new posts you make.
This has great benefits as your blog eventually will begin to rise in the search engine results.
That's fine for 12 months from now, but how about today or tomorrow or even next week.
The answer is simple.
Write articles and get exposure for your blog.
Let's say your blog is about collecting stamps.
You wrote some pretty amazing articles about the various stamps in your collection and you have tons of tips for people starting out.
It turns out that articles with tips are very popular.
Any article with "10 Tips to Better Stamp Collecting" or something equivalent will pique the reader's interest.
That is how you get exposure.
Writing articles is not hard, but it is a lot of work and takes discipline.
You cannot just write one article and sit back on your laurels.
Sure, you may get a few views, but it takes lots of articles to really get traffic flowing.
Over time, some of your articles will find their way into the search engines.
When that happens, count on some nice traffic.
I have written articles that are on the first page of the major search engines and they send me over 100 visitors per day consistently month after month.
Once you write an article, sit back and write a few variations.
Submit them to the top article directories to get lots of exposure.
Don't limit yourself to any single directory because link variety is a good thing.
The most important thing to remember is that you should be writing and submitting articles each day.
If you post one single article a day, you'll have 365 links working to bring you traffic by this time next year.
